Now (finally) Shipping Stretch-Goal Products!

Hello Backers,
The day has come. Our FSHD Orange, Red, International Billfold, and RFID replacement products are now shipping!
The initial shipping date in February for the stretch-goal products (Red, FSHD Orange and Int'l Billfold) was well on track until we reluctantly determined the factory was just unable to consistently meet our quality control demands. Two factories and 3 ½ months later, I am really thrilled with our current manufacturer’s craftsmanship and commitment to delivering products on time.
What took the previous factory several months to execute, our current factory delivered in one month’s time. They have finished all of our Kickstarter wallets and we’ve placed an order so we can sell the Red and FSHD Orange wallets on our website as well.
I’m really excited to get these to you and can’t wait to hear what you think once you’ve had a chance to use them. We wouldn’t be where we are today as a brand without your support. Thank you so much for your patience with us while we’ve relentlessly pursued this day.
All that said, please stay tuned for upcoming announcements on exciting expansions to our product line. More good things are coming.

Production Continues and RFID Wallet Update

Hi Backers,
Production on the FSHD Orange, Red and International billfolds is underway and we are really pleased with the leather colors. We plan to ship these wallets in the coming weeks.
On a different note, we recently discovered some of our RFID wallets are failing to meet our quality and performance standards. Unfortunately, a step in our defined production process was ignored, resulting in fraying of the RFID material. As a result, the manufacturer is currently remaking all RFID wallets. We have been working with them closely to ensure they follow the process precisely so all replacement wallets are up to our standards and you can enjoy your wallet for years to come [Affected wallets: RFID Cash, RFID Billfold, and RFID Passport wallets shipped December 18, 2017 - April 15, 2018].
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we fix this problem. The remade RFID wallets will be completed in the coming weeks and we will ship replacement products at no expense to our customers. We will send direct messages to confirm shipping addresses to those affected. The wallets currently in production (RFID: FSHD Orange, Red and International Billfold) will not be affected.

International Billfold Pictures, Production Update & Special Giveaway

Hi Backers,
I am very happy to announce that the International Billfold is now production ready! I’ve included some images below, including side by side views so you can see the size difference between the standard and international version. The extra pocket minimally increased the thickness while improving the structural integrity and organization. The added height also allows for larger, international currencies. I’m also pretty sure my dad will now want to buy this version and use the extra cash pocket to keep all of his receipts (even though I’ve tried to convince him, “there’s an app for that!”).
In my last update, I mentioned that the factory was remaking RFID wallets to ensure they meet our high-quality standards and no steps are missed in the process. I’m happy to report they’ve ironed out the correct process, albeit taking longer time than we’d hoped, and will soon proceed with production of the Red, FSHD Orange and all International Billfold wallets. With the leather tanning completed in France and en route to the factory, we should be shipping product in the coming weeks!
Also mentioned in our last update, we’ve had more interest from various retail stores, some of which have started carrying our product and others that are in the works. With that in mind, if you can think of any retail locations, especially boutique shops, where you think our products would be a great fit, please let us know!

Production Update

It has been a month since our latest update and I wanted to fill you in on the latest status.
INCOMPLETE SURVEYS: Some backers still have not completed their survey. Please let me know if you have any questions about completing your survey. You can use this link for convenience. PRODUCTION UPDATE for stretch-goal wallets (including International Billfold, Red and FSHD Orange): Unfortunately the factory made an error in the production of some wallets so they are having to remake the wallets (they glued a part before cutting and it could result in fraying). Because of this error, we are now behind our schedule where we were planning to ship next week. We anticipate all wallets will be ready in 5 weeks. I sincerely apologize for the delay. I know delays like this are very common in Kickstarter, but having backed projects that ship very late, I have really tried to be realistic with the shipping timelines.
BRAND UPDATE: Some of you like to know how things are progressing for our brand, so here's a brief update. We continue to operate online and ship wallets all over the world (orders today were primarily to US, but one went to Australia, and a few to Canada yesterday). We have also decided to start wholesaling our products to some high-end boutiques so we will have a presence at an important trade show next week in Las Vegas. We're excited and it's been all-hands-on-deck this week getting ready for it. Come say hello if you're in the industry or if you live close by.

Happy 2018!
It has already been a busy year for Anson Calder. I wanted to send a quick update to address two Frequently Asked Questions.
1) Has my package shipped yet? I haven't received it.
If you have not received your product or a tracking number, you likely have an International Billfold or Red or FSHD Orange wallet in your order. If you do not, please message me so I can look into shipping. Remember, the Stretch-Goal products (Intl Billfold, FSHD Orange and Red) were at the end and after the Kickstarter project completed, all with an expected shipping date of February. We will keep you updated as production progresses!
On that note - some of our international backers didn't receive their tracking numbers, due to a glitch in the system. We have since fixed the glitch so you should receive tracking numbers one we process shipping on our side. We apologize for this inconvenience if you were affected and wondering where your package was.
Also, some of the labels for orders which included stretch-goals went out, so it appeared they were shipped or at least being processed. Once production on our stretch goals is completed, we will use the same tracking info and will send updates to let everyone know product has shipped. Let us know at that point if you don't have your tracking info and we can resend.

2) I ordered an RFID wallet, how can I be sure my wallet is RFID blocking?
The RFID Version looks identical to the non-RFID version because the leather is actually split and the RFID material is then glued in between layers of the leather. This helps maintain our minimalist design, keeping the necessary functionality and in a way that is almost unnoticeable.
The way to tell it is RFID is by testing with an RFID reading device. The best way for you to test, since you likely don't have a reader, is to put the card you have that is RFID and try to scan it or pay for something with it. Remember that with the Card and Cash wallets the center pocket is the fully lined pocket. Because of the cutouts, the outer pockets can't fully enclose the card with the RFID blocking fabric. With the passport and billfold wallets the entire exterior is RFID lined. If you want to get technical, our RFID fabric is effective at blocking for the industry standard 13.56 Megahertz frequency RFID chips.

I hope you are enjoying your wallets. Remember that the leather continues to get better with use. Load your wallet with what you plan to carry and allow the leather to mold and develop a beautiful patina with use.

1) Can I get more wallets at the Kickstarter price?
Send me an email with your individual request and we will work something out for you. I value our early Kickstarter backers and although I cannot continue to offer our products at such a steep discount, I put you backers in the "friends and family" bucket.
2) Why did I get a customs bill?
If you live outside of the United States, your country may impose taxes, duties or customs on products imported from other countries. I lived in Switzerland and know these can be very frustrating at times. We do what we can to get the products cleared through customs at the appropriate tax rate so you don't have additional fees. The general rate is 8% for most countries but we have seen up to 35%, depending on the country. We declare the amount you paid for your order (standard is the super-early-bird price of $65USD) and use the standardized HTS code for leather wallets 4202.31 (4202.31.6000 specifically).
We have shipped to 22 countries for just this campaign (and over 50 total for other orders). Unfortunately we cannot research and predict the customs fees for every country. It is a federal offense to lie on customs forms (ie declare it a "Gift" or under-declare an item) and we stand by honest and fair business practices. It also jeopardizes the insurance on the package if the value is under-declared.
